The UK navy has a good number of naval force universities that train the best marines in the country. Every school has its own specialization that gives every aspiring marine a chance to choose what they want to do for their future.
Aside from protecting the country’s matters locally and abroad, the UK navy also protects everyone who works for them. The British Armed Forces has seen to it that training and education isn’t taken for granted. As of today, there are fourteen maritime schools and naval bases all over UK.
In the heart of Portsmouth is where Portsmouth Naval Base is located. This base has been a second home to over seventeen thousand working marines. It houses two-thirds of the Royal Navy’s surface ships, including the aircraft carriers, Type 42 destroyers, Type 23 frigates and a mine countermeasure squadron, as well as fishery protection and training units.
Like Portsmouth, another port that has supported the UK navy for a long period of time is the HMS Devonport. Located here is the largest largest ship in the Royal Navy, HMS Ocean that is 21,000 tones and also the smallest vessel in service HMS Gleaner a 25 tonne surveying motor launch. The port up until now has been very active as it also became a hub for businesses other than one of UK’s naval bases.
Joining the Naval Force doesn’t limit one’s job description. In fact, with a vessel that weighs tones, its job opportunities have a large scale also. For those who are opting Marine Engineering and Royal Navy Air Engineering, HMS Sultan is a naval force school that supplies quality engineers to a Fleet. This is also one of the largest Marine engineering school that even outsources trainees to foreign navies.
Another engineering school is HMS Collingwood. The school specializes in electrical engineering specifically on that of a water vessel. Students from this school are trained to fix and maintain electric and radio equipment in the fleet. Other than engineering, other series of trainings include firing, ship maintenance, maneuvering and management and of course, the Royal Navy ethics.
The UK naval force also provides a naval base that trains in sports and leisure. Marines are encouraged to have a sport as it gives them another form of training. Only, a sport seems less rigid and more enjoyable to most. HMS Temeraire is one of the navy training centres that has this kind of accommodation.
The UK is next to the United States on the having the strongest, most influential armed forces. Without training schools and naval bases, the navy wouldn’t be standing firm right now.
